This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Where to begin? Spacecat is truly a staple of life. Firstly the food is fantastic. I always recommend the weekly specials. Shelly put so much work in creating amazing flavor combinations and brining something new to the menu. Pro tip - upgrade your side to the Cesar salad, and if you like it spicy the Spacecat habanero sauce to dip your handheld in will be your bestie. I also can never leave without many sweet treats. Honestly sometimes I just stop by for a coffee and cookies, cakes, and/or muffin - TOO many options. The ambiance is fantastic. It lives up to its name in every scenario - even on the bathroom doors. The service always makes me feel like Iβm at home. Special shout out to Coco for always making me feel welcomed and taken care of. Iβm so grateful that Ferndale has this gem of a place.

First time eating at this restaurant-βand wow was I impressed. I had the vegan chicken and waffles with βBrunchy Potatoesβ (sweet potatoes with onion and garlic greens. I wouldnβt have thought the sweet potato mixture would be good, but it was quite tasty. Iβd definitely have it again. Everything was DELICIOUS! Canβt wait to try other dishes they offer!

I really enjoyed my short time in this place! The entire menu can be made vegan save for one item. I am not vegan but appreciate having the option, coming from Macomb County, where the vegetable soup is made with meat stock, all salads have chicken, and the only meat free choice on a menu is usually a grilled cheese sandwich. I would love to have one of these in Sterling Heights or Shelby Township, but probably have a better chance of hitting the lotto or getting struck by lightning!

Since 2020 this cozy small eatery in downtown Ferndale has brought comfort food with a vegan flair to their customers. We arrived early and right away gravitated to the Spacecat Power Bowl. It was love from the first bite with the scrambled Burmese tofu, black beans, garlic greens, cashew sour cream, and avocado. The mango hot sauce side was a perfect complement. They massage the kale by hand and cook it by pan with water and seasoning so it is not heavy and oily. This is the best kale I have ever had. The owner and staff have a love for their product and it comes through in everything they do. Come to Spacecat to fuel up on the healthiest and yummiest food around. Then when you walk out the door you might just take off - to the moon and beyond.

Adorable decor, SUPER friendly staff. The menu was creative, the portions were large, and the food very flavorful. We especially appreciated that they make their own mock meats.
